The Project Meeting in Panevezys

Just before autumn holidays our class teacher Loreta Jusienė offered us to participate in eTwining project to celebrate the finish of eTwinning marathon Lithuania – Latvia. Last year five girls represented Juozas Balčikonis gymnasium in Agenskalna gymnasium in Ryga. This year the project came to Juozas Balčikonis gymnasium, so we started preparing for the meeting.

On 26th October at 10 o‘clock in the morning, we welcomed our guests from Lithuanian and Latvian schools. 15 students from Ryga Agenskalna gymnasium and 19 students from Pandelis gymnasium, Kuršėnai Pavenčiai secondary school and 7 girls and one but not lonely boy from Juozas Balčikonis gymnasium. There also participated 7 active teachers, who helped us to work and communicate with foreigners.

When all project participants arrived, the new guides Gabrielė and Gerda made a tour around our gymnasium. We were split into two groups. While Gabrielė told about our school’s history and traditions in Lithuanian, the other group had an opportunity to listen Gerda‘s story in English. Our guests visited library, aqvarium, museum, the main hall, classrooms and, finally, canteen, where we were treated with warm and deliciuos dishes.

So, after we had had lunch, we came back to the classroom and started our presentations. Firstly, we watched the video with photos, which reminded our last year’s journey to Latvia and the activities we did during the meeting. Then, other project participants presented videos about puppets’ trips inLithuania, Latvia and even Romania.

After we seen all the presentations, the work began. This year’s task was to work in teams and create an animated movie. This movie had to represent the eTwining dolls’ house creation. It was a very interesting and funny task which demanded patience and cooperation. Everybody seemed to like this task. We had an opportunity to improve our English and Russion language, ICT skills.. The results of this work were stunning. Eight colorful houses decorated with plastilin and eight funny movies were created. We were awarded with presents and a big cake for excellent work and participation. All presents had “eTwining” attributes. After we ate our cake we had send off our guests.

During this project we had gained a lot of experience, met new friends and perfectly spent our time. We are very happy and glad that we had an opportunity to participate in eTwinning project and we hope to continue cooperating with Lithuanian and Latvian schools.
