eTwinning Puppet in Kursenai Pavenciai secondary school

The puppet arrived at Kursenai Pavenciai secondary school on October 6th and spent some days with us. On the first day he visited the school spending most of the time with us in our classroom. He even took part in the webconference with our Comenius partners from France!

Then, he visited other classrooms and had technology lesson with us! It enjoyed the food and handicrafts we made. He even tried some woodworking himself and used our computer room to chat online!

After school we took him home with us and spent one gorgeous autumn afternoon outside. The weather was just fantastic, so he enjoyed playing hide-and-seek in the trees, leaves and grass, but he was very easy to find because of its bright blue colour. However, it was very good for the photos! The bright green and blue colors looked amazing! We spent the evening enjoying the sunset and the cloudy sky.

The next day we took him to Kursenai Folk Art Museum. The curator there was very friendly and she let the puppet play with lots of exhibits: wooden utensils, tools, spoons, baskets and other handicrafts. He tried some old equipment but he enjoyed sleeping in a cradle most.

In the afternoon we took the pupet to the town - sightseeing. Of course, first we stopped at our famous roundabout with the jug, a symbol of the town. Then we went to Laurynas Ivinskis' square. Ivinskis published the first Lithuanian calendar, he worked in Kursenai, so the main town square is dedicated to him. Here we usually celebrate different festivals. Another important landmark in Kursenai is the church. Unfortunately it was locked, so we visited only the outside chapel. It was very peaceful there!

A visit to Siauliai region can't be complete without the Hill of Crosses. It is one of the most famous sights in Lithuania and it is also protected by Unesco. Here the puppet was amazed at the number of different crosses. We took some photos with the crosses that we built with our project partners earlier. Then we searched for a cross from Latvia, and, of course, we found one! Actually, there are crosses from all over the world. On the way back we visited the monastery wich is at the Hill of Crosses.
To sum up, the puppet had a great time with us and so did we! We are looking forward to new adventures!
